VS-1 Variable Speed Controller

The VS-1 sets the standard for the next generation in automated pump control, continuously fine-tuning pump speed to achieve optimal production while protecting the pump against loss of flow.

Automatic Calibration

The VS-1 calibrates itself automatically to a well and is designed to operate a pump at the lowest speed required to capture current production, thereby achieving a constant downhole fluid level. It is extremely responsive to well pump downs.

Complete Pump Protection

The VS-1 has a complete set of safety options available to protect the pump in response to well-related problems such as sanding, well pump off, gas slugs, and other problems. In addition to adjusting speed, the pump can also be stopped based on loss of flow with options to re-start automatically after a pre-set downtime or manually re-started by an operator.

Easy to Install!

The VS-1 probe is installed into a standard 2'' NPT close to the wellhead. It is fitted with a 1'' thread above a 2.5'' × 1.5'' hexagonal base and so plumbing requires only a pipewrench. Everything is installed above-ground so making installtion quick and inexpensive.

Electrified or Hydraulic Wells

Thousands of VS-1 have been installed on world-wide on both electrified and hydraulic wells. In the case of hydraulic wells, change in pump speed is achieved by way of a simple proportional valve added to the hydraulic system.

AC or DC Power Supply

The VS-1 has a universal power supply and can be powered by 120 or 240 volts AC or, alternatively, by 9-18 volts DC, for hydraulic wells that are not electrified.

Modbus RTU

The VS-1 contains an RS-232 interface compatible with the Modbus RTU protocol for remote communication and other SCADA requirements. It easily plugs into existing SCADA networks.
